John W Henry sets Liverpool's sights on the Champions League

The Liverpool owner, John W Henry, has warned Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool that failure to qualify for the Champions League next season would be a "major disappointment" for the club. "It's too early for us to talk about winning the league," said Henry according to reports on Monday. "[But] our main goal is to qualify for the Champions League. If we don't, it would be a major disappointment." Henry's comments came in the wake of Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Valerenga – the Merseyside club have now drawn one and lost two of their last three friendlies. The American also said he believed Manchester United are the favourites to reclaim their Premier League title. "In my opinion Manchester United [are the team to beat]. They have a good squad and look good," he said.
