Write for us about: The Sex Pistols

What better time than the diamond jubilee to reflect on the achievements of the Sex Pistols? Thirty-five years have passed since God Save the Queen , the Pistols' controversial single. Its release was marked with a notorious boat trip down the Thames that helped secure the band's notoriety. What is the legacy of the the Sex Pistols? What was it like to live through punk? Does the band's music or story have any relevance to music and culture in 2012? Whatever your thoughts about them – good, bad, or indifferent – we'd like to hear them. If you'd like to participate, please email [email protected] before 8am on Friday 1 June, with up to 200 words on your thoughts about the Sex Pistols legacy. When you email, please include your Guardian username and your real name (let us know if you object to having your real name used). We'll pick five entries for publication. The subject line of your email should be "Sex Pistols".
