Two men held in Manchester city centre rape inquiry
Police investigating the rape of a teenage boy in a Manchester city centre department store have arrested two men following a public appeal. The men, aged 55 and 41, have been arrested on suspicion of rape and are in police custody. The 14-year-old victim was in the Arndale centre during the afternoon of 2 June when he went to use the toilets, police said. There he was approached by two men who stared at him. One of them, it is claimed, said to him: "Come with us, do what we say and if you try to run we'll get you." He was then led out of the Arndale centre and marched to a nearby Debenhams. He was taken by the lift upstairs and to a toilet where he was allegedly raped by one of the men. Two other men were arrested on Thursday in connection with the rape and have been bailed pending further inquiries.
