Wolves agree to sell Matt Jarvis and Steven Fletcher for £22m
Three British players were poised for transfers worth a total of around £32m on Thursday night. Of that sum a minimum £22m will go to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have agreed a fee rising to £10m with West Ham for Matt Jarvis, and at least £12m with Sunderland for the centre forward Steven Fletcher. While Jarvis, scheduled to become West Ham's record signing, and Fletcher spent Thursday undergoing medicals and discussing personal terms with their respective new clubs, Sunderland also opened talks with Adam Johnson after agreeing a £10m fee with Manchester City for the England winger. Liverpool and Tottenham retain a complicating interest in signing the 25-year-old Johnson but the Jarvis and Fletcher moves are expected to be finalised on Friday morning.
