Streeped in history – Maggie pic makes a splash

A big bunch of bananas to Premier PR and Pathé for scooping five – count 'em – five front pages today with the arresting picture of Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher . All the other national papers also ran the pic inside, except for the FT. Monkey probably wasn't the only one having a scary 1980s flashback over breakfast today. The Daily Mash has its own inimitable take on the story of Streep's starring role in the Thatcher biopic: "The Oscar-winner prepared for her role by spending six months in the gym beating up minors and losing 80% of her soul in a punishing regime of dehumanisation."
