Radiohead donate signed guitar for girl's cancer appeal
Radiohead have donated a guitar used on their albums Kid A and Amnesiac to raise money for a four-year-old girl with inoperable brain stem cancer. The Fender Telecaster, signed by all five members of the band is being auctioned on eBay in aid of Billie Bainbridge, from Exeter, Devon, who was diagnosed in June. She travelled to America with parents Terri and Sam for pioneering treatment they hope will extend her life, although there is no conventional cure. The Billie Butterfly Fund is trying to raise £200,000 to fund the US treatment. It stands at £185,000, with the Fender Telecaster, played live until recently, attracting 54 bids, with the highest £6,600 as of Saturday.
