Matilda by Roald Dahl - review

Matilda is an unusual five-year-old girl because she has magical powers which she likes using! At the age of five she can already read. She has a brother called Michael who does not go to school. Matilda's dad, Mr Wormwood, runs a dodgy motoring business where he uses sawdust as petrol. Her mum, Mrs Wormwood, goes to bingo three times a week. While Matilda really wants to go to school, her dad does not want her to. But he gets so sick of her that he puts her in a school. Matilda has a very kind teacher called Mrs Honey. The head teacher Mrs Trunchball is really mean and she is Mrs Honey's aunt. When Mrs Honey's parents died Mrs Trunchball bought their house and at the age of 17 Mrs Honey moved out. If you have seen the DVD then you get a better understanding of the book. I think Matilda should be read by people aged 8-10. Annabel Want to tell the world about a book you've read?
