The Ashes 2010-2011: Michael Beer wins turn to face England in Sydney

Michael Beer has been named in the Australia squad for the fifth and final Ashes Test at the SCG. The spinner, who has never played at the Sydney ground, comes into the side with only seven first-class games to his name. He will become Australia's 10th Test spinner since the 2007 retirement of Shane Warne, following the selection of Nathan Hauritz, Stuart MacGill, Brad Hogg, Jason Krejza, Cameron White, Beau Casson, Steve Smith, Bryce McGain and Xavier Doherty.
