Manchester United's Nani suffers injury scare before City derby

Nani may be a doubt for Monday's Premier League encounter against Manchester City after limping out of training with a suspected ankle injury. The Manchester United winger suffered the knock in a tackle during his side's first training session in Cardiff on Friday, where they are spending a weekend break in preparation for the derby. Nani, 25, has only recently returned to the first team after a frustrating campaign in which he has been beset by ankle problems. His absence may be keenly felt as United look to avoid a defeat at the Etihad Stadium that would see City return to the top of the table. Sir Alex Ferguson's side currently hold a three-point lead over their rivals but have an inferior goal difference. Jonny Evans provided Ferguson with a boost, though, after completing a light training session for the first time since the draw with Everton last weekend, when United twice squandered a two-goal lead to draw 4-4.
