Benedict Cumberbatch , the star of the well-received first outing of Sherlock, said that he almost became the next Time Lord instead of Matt Smith, according to the Sun. Cumberbatch, who said he spoke to previous Doctor Who star David Tennant about it, said that he "didn't really like the whole package – being on school lunchboxes". In other Cumberbatch news it turns out he missed the TV premiere of his own show while travelling to Sherlock creator Steven Moffat's house because he got caught up in traffic on, of all places, Baker Street.
