Angel completes lineup for Guardian's next New Band of the Day gig

Rising R&B star Angel has been announced as the headline act for the Guardian's next New Band of the Day gig. He completes the previous announced lineup for the show at Barfly in London on 11 April. Hailed by Paul Lester, author of the New band of the day column, as an "all-singing, all-writing and producing urban boy wonder," Angel recently released an EP, Go In, Go Hard , featuring Wretch 32, on Island records. He has previously written for other acts including Roll Deep, Devlin, JLS, Cheryl Cole and Pixie Lott , and was New band of the day number 1,205 . The previously announced acts for the NBOTD gig are BIGKids , Josh Kumra , Michele Stodart (formerly of the Magic Numbers) and Pixie Geldof's band Violet. A previous NBOTD night , at Barfly in January, featured Bos Angeles, Murray James, Josh Osho, Big Deal, Jodie Marie and Worship. Tickets for the gig cost £8 . Guardian Extra members will be able to purchase tickets for £7. A Twitter hashtag for the event is #NBOTDLive.
