Rising R&B star Angel has been announced as the headline act for the Guardian's next New Band of the Day gig. Playing alongside Angel at the event will be BIGKids , Josh Kumra , Michele Stodart (formerly of the Magic Numbers) and Pixie Geldof's band Violet. The Guardian's Paul Lester will be introducing the evening; the author of more than 1,229 New Band of the Day columns said: "The first NBOTD night was a ringing success – my ears are still ringing – and I can't wait for this next opportunity to get out of my study."
