Catch up TV Guide: from Batman to Auntie Flo
TV: Batman: Year One While Marvel comics seem to be on a streak of film hits, rivals DC have struggled with adaptations that don't involve a Bat (Green Lantern, Jonah Hex). However, their animated division has had much more success, with Justice League: The New Frontier, Wonder Woman and Superman: Doomsday. Year One is based on Frank Miller's classic 1987 retelling of Batman's early years. As well as stylish animation, it's got a decent cast that wouldn't be out of place in a live action version: Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as Jim Gordon, Ben McKenzie (Southland, The OC) as Batman, and Eliza Dushku (Buffy, Dollhouse) as Catwoman. A good stop-gap for Batfans until The Dark Knight Rises next year. iTunes £3.49 to rent; £9.99 to buy TV: Sons Of Anarchy Still a couple of days to catch the last three episodes of SOA's third season, as Jax, Opie and Gemma head out on a manhunt in Ireland. Demand 5 TV: Hill Street Blues Be careful out there – all 146 episodes of this cop classic are online, from the first case (Furillo tries to defuse a hostage situation) to the last (Buntz is suspended on charges of stealing cocaine). When Hill Street started in 1987 it was noteworthy for breaking new ground; now it's worth watching for the stories and characters. 4OD TV: Look Around You S1 Answering the big questions: what is water? Why do we make music? The brain: garden cauliflower or the most intelligent part of a human being? If you missed Robert Popper and Peter Serafinowicz's deadpan science spoof, it's an ideal online treat. www.seesaw.com TV: Fresh Meat The final episode of the series airs on Channel 4 on Wednesday, so if you've yet to see it, now is the time to catch up. Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain's student comedy is a well-observed, silly and occasionally poignant look at a mismatched student houseshare. Jack Whitehall steals the show as, incredibly, a posh, braying fool, while Howard gets all the best lines. 4OD Film: Meet The Filmmakers: Tyrannosaur "The first time I saw Eddie was on Frith Street, swinging round a lamp post …" Paddy Considine, Olivia Colman and Eddie Marsan discuss Considine's directorial debut. iTunes Music: Auntie Flo DJ Mix Podcast Get up on some Afro-house with this choice selection from Auntie Flo, featuring Black Motion, Alejandro Paz and Afefe Iku. www.clashmusic.com
