Two in custody over murder of Real IRA member

A woman and a man are in custody being questioned about the murder of a Real IRA member in Northern Ireland who the terror group claimed was an informer. The man, aged 42, and woman, 40, were detained following police raids in Derry earlier today. Kieran Doherty's body was found with gunshot wounds at an isolated spot outside the city in February last year. The Real IRA said he had been a senior member of the organisation but had been recruited by MI5 to work as an informer. But the murdered man's family have claimed that he had been allegedly "set up" by agents within the Real IRA who were authentic MI5 spies. Their allegations have been taken up by the Foyle MP Mark Durkan, who has demanded an inquiry into the killing.
