West Sussex council awards outsourcing deal to Capita

West Sussex county council has awarded Capita a 10-year deal for the outsourcing of various support services, including telecommunications and pension fund administration, worth £154m. According to a notice in the Official Journal of the European Union, Capita, which was named as the council's preferred bidder last month, will deliver HR and payroll, finance, office services, online service delivery, procurement and pensions administration. The service is expected to go live in September 2012. The council already has a seven-year contract worth £56m with the firm for IT services, which it signed in October 2010. A spokesman for the authority confirmed that the new deal was separate to the IT deal it already has with the firm. This article is published by Guardian Professional .
